Despite their name, African Geese do not originate from Africa, but instead arise from Southeast China. This large bird can reach up to 20 pounds and can be used as an addition to egg-laying flocks, meat production or simply as family pets. The white feathers around the neck and chest give the goose a swan-like appearance, while the light brown, white-fringed feathers around the wings and body are similar to its cousin, the Chinese goose. The black knob over the bill that develops in adulthood as well as the shiny black bill gives the African goose an especially elegant and distinctive appearance.
I have a male African Brown he is very lovable and people friendly would love to raise a couple females for him I'm very pleased with him (Posted on 3/10/2016)
We love our African Geese! Review by Beebalm Farm
We received 3 gosling last spring, 2 female 1 gander. Upon Opening the box all 3 heads sprung out and they began cheeping loudly, it was the cutest thing I have ever seen! Our geese are a riot, we love to watch them do their weird goosey behaviors around our yard. They love to boss us, our chickens, cats, and dog around, 1 of the ladies even started squawking at a squirrel! They are very loud, which we were prepared for, and very talkative. We absolutely adore our geese, thank you Cackle Hatchery for supplying us with these amazing creatures!!! (Posted on 1/26/2016)
