The Toulouse goose is a large, stout goose raised for its heavy weight, moderate egg production and striking physical attributes. The Toulouse goose is often raised for meat, particularly its historic purpose, pate foie gras. Laying between 25 and 40 eggs a year and growing quickly to between 20 and 30 pounds, Toulouse geese are popular among hobby farmers, family farms and small commercial farms. The pronounced dewlap and keel on some Toulouse geese, with their smoky gray and black plumage, also make them an exhibition animal.

Great addition lovely breed Review by Shaunamama
Great geese, nice grazers. The female will honk and hiss if she has eggs, but that is her job. If you let her hatch them or take them away she wil calm down. Only when she is laying does she hiss and try to get you away. They wander and hang out with the kids all other times of the year. They are great grazers without tearing anything up. Love this breed. Great for pets or meat. They make just enough noise to alert or chase off unwanted animals or people but not so much racket they they annoy you. Really fun birds. (Posted on 1/30/2016)
Great goose for families with children and pets. Review by Chernobyl Chickens & Geese, Las Vegas, NV
We received our trio of Toulouse geese the end of March 2015. They are a great addition to our small farm. We have issues with feral cats and since around August of 2015 we no longer had cats coming into our property. In addition they are extremely friendly if they know you but are not so friendly if you are a stranger. Our Toulouse get along great with my service-dog and our three roosters. (Posted on 12/20/2015)
