Photo Contest Terms & Conditions

The contest is open to entrants who own the photos they submit. We accept photos of geese, ducks, chickens, guineas, turkeys, and peafowl. There is no purchase requirement for submitting an entry or for winning.

Enter digitally by uploading your photo through the entry form on the Photo Contest page. If you prefer to mail your entry, we accept only color 4×6 inch hard-copy prints or a CD. Do not write on the back of printed photos, as the writing can indent or bleed through to the finished side. Mailed photos are not returned and become the property of Cackle Hatchery®. We suggest keeping a duplicate copy for yourself.

• We look for photo quality and clarity in every photo submitted.
• Any A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) created image is disqualified.
• The photo must have been taken by the person submitting the entry and must not have any copyrights or pending ownership by another party.
• Each household is limited to 10 photos submitted each contest year.

Three $100 cash prizes are awarded: Best of Breed (the photo that best shows the pure breed), Funniest Chicken (funny, cute, original, or artistic), and Poultry Show Prize or Ribbon (a photo of a bird with a ribbon or prize in the shot). For the show category, include the name of the show and the award won on your entry form.

Photos and entry form must be delivered to Cackle Hatchery by December 15th. Winners are announced January 15th on the Cackle Hatchery Facebook page.

All photos submitted are subject to use by Cackle Hatchery®. By entering, you grant Cackle Hatchery® permission to display, reproduce, and promote your submitted photo across its website, social media, and marketing materials.
