Professional Hardboiled Egg Eating Contest at Cackle Hatchery’s Chicken Festival

🥚 2026 Hard-Boiled Egg Eating Contest – Official Rules

Location & Check-In

  • All contestants must check in at Big Tent in Parking Lot of Building B
    Address: 411 W Commercial St, Lebanon, MO
    Date/Time: Saturday, October 3, 2026 — TBD

Eligibility & Registration

  1. All participants must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. Contestants must be registered and have signed the official waiver form.

Contest Format & Rules

  1. The goal is to eat as many hard-boiled eggs as possible within 8 minutes.
    Water (provided) is the only beverage allowed.
  2. Each contestant begins with 10 hard-boiled eggs. We use commercial grade Medium eggs for the contest.
  3. Contestants must wait for the official signal to start.
  4. Dunking or crushing eggs is permitted.
  5. Separating yolks and whites is allowed.
  6. No touching eggs before the official start signal.
  7. Eggs still in a contestant’s mouth at the 8-minute mark may count if fully swallowed without vomiting.

Judging & Disqualification

  1. The official judges will determine the winner — all decisions are final.
  2. The winner is the contestant who eats the most eggs in 8 minutes.
  3. Reversal of fortune (vomiting) results in immediate disqualification.
  4. Any rule violation = disqualification at the judges’ discretion.

Legal & Safety Disclaimer

All participants must:

  • Acknowledge the inherent risks of competitive eating.
  • Agree that Cackle Hatchery and its sponsors may:
    • Accept or deny entry at their discretion
    • Change event details, prizes, or schedule at any time
    • Revoke a contestant’s eligibility at any point
Professional Division
Definition:
The Professional Division is open to experienced competitive eaters and anyone who elects to compete at the higher level.
Eligible contestants include those who:
  • Have previously won prize money in a competitive eating contest, or
  • Have placed in the top 5 of any competitive eating contests (including previous Cackle Hatchery contests) in the past 3 years, or
  • Are members of a professional competitive eating organization, or
  • Competitive eat on social media platforms and create competitive food consumption content
  • Simply choose to enter the Professional Division (self-declaration is allowed).
  • Contestants can expect to compete with other competitors who typically consume 100+ Hard-Boiled Eggs in 8 minutes.
  • Current Record – 125 hard-boiled eggs consumed in 2025.
Contestants who qualify as Professional must enter the Professional Division and may not compete in the Amateur Division.
