Black Laced Silver Wyandotte Chicken Breed Information
Admitted to the American Standard of Perfection in 1888. Originated in New
York State and is the parent variety of the all of the other Wyandottes.
The Black Laced Silver Wyandotte chickens are a docile bird, clean legs, mostly
black laced silvery white feathers and black tail; Red rose comb, earlobes, and
wattles. They will on occasion go broody and they make excellent mothers. They
work well in confinement or free range and are a great back yard chicken. Cackle
Hatchery® only offers at this time our “production type or line” not a show
type NOTE: In 2014 Cackle Hatchery started using a better descriptive name for our Wyandotte’s.
With the emerging of the blue laced red Wyandotte’s and other colors of lacing emerging we feel
it would be less confusing to have a full descriptive breed name. So the “ Silver Laced Wyandotte’s”
are now called by Cackle Hatchery “Black Laced Silver Wyandotte’s”
