Description
Small Thermometer
The Small Thermometer is used to check the temperature at the floor area of your chick brooder. Since baby chicks spend most of their time near the brooder floor, checking the temperature at chick level is one of the best ways to manage early brooder heat.
Regulating temperature is essential when raising baby chicks. This small thermometer is a must-have tool for every brooder setup and helps customers confirm that chicks are getting the right amount of warmth.
This thermometer has a washable plastic backing, measures 4 inches long x 1 1/2 inches wide, and does not contain mercury.

Why Check Brooder Floor Temperature?
Baby chicks need the right brooder temperature from the start. Since chicks live, rest, eat, and drink near the floor, temperature readings should be checked at chick level rather than high above the brooder.
A thermometer helps customers avoid guessing.
If the brooder floor is too cold, chicks may pile up, chill, or struggle to get started. If the brooder is too hot, chicks may move away from the heat, pant, or become stressed.
Checking the floor-area temperature helps keep the brooder more comfortable and helps customers adjust heat as needed.
A Must for Every Brooder
A thermometer is one of the simplest brooder tools, but it is also one of the most important. Chicks depend on customers to provide proper warmth, especially during the first days after arrival.
Use this thermometer to help monitor:
Brooder floor temperature
Heat lamp or brooder heater performance
Chick comfort
Temperature changes during the day or night
Whether the heat source needs adjustment
Overall brooder readiness before chicks arrive
Customers should always set up and test their brooder before chicks are placed inside.
Washable Plastic Backing
The Small Thermometer includes a washable plastic backing. Brooder supplies can get dusty or dirty during use, so washable materials are helpful for keeping equipment cleaner.
Clean and dry the thermometer as needed, then return it to the brooder area where it can help monitor chick-level temperature.
Mercury-Free Design
This thermometer does not contain mercury.
That makes it a practical option for brooder use around baby chicks and poultry supplies. As with all brooder tools, place it where it can be read easily while staying safe from damage, water, and excessive chick activity.
Shipping Information
This product is available to ship with a chick order or a supply order.
It cannot ship alone.
This product will ship with your chick order when ordered with chicks.
Customers should add this thermometer to their chick or supply order ahead of time so it is ready when the brooder is set up.
Brooder Setup Reminder
A thermometer should be part of every brooder setup, but chicks also need heat, feed, water, bedding, space, and fresh air.
Before chicks arrive:
Set up the brooder
Start the heat source
Check the temperature at floor level
Make sure feed and water are ready
Confirm the brooder is clean and secure
Watch chick behavior after arrival
The thermometer helps customers know what the brooder temperature is, while chick behavior helps confirm whether the setup feels right.

As stated in another review. It’s small but perfect for the brooder box I had.

Good for a Brooder, but It Is Tiny
The thermometer is attached to a paper backing, and the whole thing is a couple of inches long. If you don’t mind it being that small, it is perfect to see the temperature at the warmest part of the brooder. You’ll just have to pick it up to read it.

temp guide
I like that the temperature guide is on the face of the thermometer.
