No choice of breed and these are all males of Heavy Breed Chicks (Heritage male poultry.) Photos below are some of the birds you may receive. We do not offer refunds or replacements on any of the free chicks or ducks sent with your order. Generally these old time heritage breed male roosters take 4-5 months to reach 5-6 pounds of live weight. They do not have the growth rate of modern day broilers and take a longer time to harvest weight. They will have a lean meat and not the legs and/or heart issues that some of the modern day broilers have.

We hatch/ship February - September of each season. See Calendar.
In the checkout process, please indicate in the comment section your desired hatch/ship date with desired month or ASAP.
There is an additional small order fee ($20) charged for orders of only 3-14 poultry. We do not ship less than 3 poultry.

Value Received these 50 (57 came) fryers completely healthy,vibrant,curious,let me outa' here attitude chicks on Wednesday,Feb. 13th 2019 soon after placing the order. I have never mail-ordered chicks before (always bought them locally all my life) and must say I am VERY impressed with the speedy,professional service and quality of chicks from Cackle Hatchery. I will for certain be purchasing more from them later this Summer and will recommend Cackle Hatchery to everyone I know that raises chickens.

We ordered these little guys last year and were very happy! We got three extra peeps. All arrived healthy and active. Only lost one little guy because he wouldn't eat. Tried all the tricks, but he just wouldn't take anything down. (Posted on 3/15/2017)
